What it is, and why it works.
A pergola or pavilion gives a fire feature a roof, a ceiling for string lights and a sense of enclosure. Cedar, timber and steel structures shade the patio in summer, shelter guests from the rain and hold fans, heaters and lighting. With the right clearances, they also host fire tables and fireplaces beautifully.
Fire and framing need careful coordination, so we design the structure and the fire feature together: beam heights, roof materials, clearances and non-combustible zones. Across Nashville's many covered porches and backyard pavilions, adding a pergola turns a patio from fair-weather to four-season.

Pergolas & Pavilions: common questions
Can I put a fire pit under a pergola?
Only if clearances and the structure allow it. Open pergolas need generous overhead space, and a roofed pavilion generally calls for gas features with proper listings. We design the combination safely.
Do I need a permit for a pergola?
Many cities require one for permanent structures. We check local rules and handle drawings where needed.
